A product of Japan's Roman Porno exploitation wave, this 1979 pink film follows Tatsuya, a young man whose polished, respectable exterior conceals a deeply violent and sadistic inner world. Adapted from a manga, the film probes the nature of inherited or cultivated evil through a protagonist who exists in two irreconcilable realities. It is an uncomfortable, uncompromising descent into the psychology of a predator, offering little in the way of reassurance or redemption.
