Set against the bleak austerity of 1930s England, a reverend moves his family into a remote manor house — only for a creeping, malevolent presence to make itself known. As strange occurrences escalate, the household begins to fracture under the weight of secrets the property refuses to keep buried. The Banishing weaves period atmosphere with psychological dread, suggesting that the horrors lurking within these walls may be far older and more deliberate than a simple haunting.
