The premise
In the fall of 1987, a group of small-town friends must survive the night in the home of a sinister couple after a tragic accident occurs. Needing only to make a single phone call, the request seems horribly ordinary until they realize that this call could change their life…or end it.

Set in the autumn of 1987, a group of teenagers find themselves trapped in the decaying home of an ominous couple after an accident forces their hand. What begins as a simple request — make one phone call — quickly spirals into a night of escalating terror. Anchored by horror veterans Lin Shaye and Tobin Bell, the film weaponizes an ordinary act into something deeply threatening. The walls of that house hold rules, and breaking them may cost everything.
