The premise
Like most families that settle inside The Gates, the Monahans are unmoored from a complicated life they abandoned in Chicago. There's something very different about this place, almost... haunting. Named the new police chief of The Gates, Nick Monahan is about to be tangled up in a mystery where he will begin to piece together the dark truth about their new home, and the supernatural elements that lurk behind the shadows of The Gates.

When Nick Monahan uproots his family to start fresh as the new chief of police in The Gates — an upscale, picture-perfect gated community — he quickly senses that something beneath the manicured surface is deeply wrong. The neighbors are charming, the streets are immaculate, and the darkness is carefully hidden. As unsettling incidents pile up, Nick finds himself pulled into a web of secrets that challenge everything he thought he knew about the people around him. This stylish suburban mystery blends procedural tension with creature-feature mythology for a slow-burn ensemble ride.
