The premise
London, 1974. As Britain prepares for electrical blackouts to sweep across the country, trainee nurse Val arrives for her first day at the crumbling East London Royal Infirmary. With most of the patients and staff evacuated to another hospital, Val is forced to work the night shift, finding herself in a dark, near empty building. Within these walls lies a deadly secret, forcing Val to face both her own traumatic past and deepest fears.

Set against the eerie backdrop of Britain's 1974 energy crisis, a young trainee nurse is thrust into a near-deserted East London hospital as the city plunges into blackout. Stripped of light and colleagues, Val must navigate shadowy wards and decaying corridors that seem to harbour something far worse than the dark. The crumbling infirmary forces her to confront buried wounds from her own past, blurring the line between haunt and memory. What lurks in this place is intimately connected to the suffering of the powerless — and it refuses to stay hidden.
