A geneticist mother walks a razor's edge between protecting the world from her son and protecting her son from himself, resorting to a chilling scientific gamble that raises deeply uncomfortable questions. Set against the irony of a Mother's Day backdrop, the film burrows into the bond between parent and child when that child may be irredeemably dangerous.
