The premise
A wealthy industrialist arranges for his body to be kept on ice in a high-tech cryonic chamber. When the instructions are not followed properly, he emerges from the frozen crypt as an empty, soulless creature with an appetite for destruction.

When a powerful businessman is sealed away in a state-of-the-art cryonic facility, the expectation is a second chance at life — but something goes terribly wrong during the revival process. What walks out of the freezing chamber looks human, yet those closest to him sense that whoever — or whatever — has returned is fundamentally, disturbingly different. Director Wes Craven brings a quiet, creeping dread to this 1985 TV movie, letting the horror build through behavior rather than spectacle. The result is a chilling meditation on identity, the soul, and the price of defying nature.
