Set in the dial-up era of 1999, Deadware traps two friends behind a flickering webcam as a seemingly innocent browser game begins to bleed something sinister into their lives. Captured entirely through the lo-fi lens of early internet technology, the film weaponizes late-90s nostalgia to deeply unsettling effect. What starts as curious exploration of a new toy quickly escalates into a dread-soaked ordeal that proves some things online were never meant to be found.
