The premise
Following Jigsaw's grisly demise, Detective Mark Hoffman is commended as a hero, but Agent Strahm is suspicious, and delves into Hoffman's past. Meanwhile, another group of people are put through a series of gruesome tests.

With the Jigsaw killer gone, the twisted games continue — and not everyone wearing a badge is on the right side of the law. Agent Strahm grows increasingly convinced that a decorated detective harbors dark secrets, setting off a dangerous cat-and-mouse pursuit through the institution Jigsaw built. Elsewhere, a fresh group of strangers must navigate a punishing gauntlet of traps, their survival hinging on choices they never saw coming. Saw V deepens the franchise's mythology while keeping the visceral brutality fans expect firmly intact.
