The premise
A psychotherapist journeys inside a comatose serial killer in the hopes of saving his latest victim.

When a sadistic serial killer falls into a coma before revealing where his latest victim is hidden, a pioneering child psychotherapist volunteers to enter his fractured mind using experimental virtual reality technology. What she finds is a terrifying inner world shaped by violence, delusion, and buried trauma — and she may not emerge unchanged. With time running out for the killer's captive, the FBI races against the clock on the outside while she navigates horrors on the inside. Tarsem Singh's debut feature is as much a dark art installation as a thriller, drenching every frame in provocative, nightmarish imagery.
