The premise
British Egyptologist Professor Morlant seeks immortality through a jewel buried in the tomb of an Oriental idol. Upon his death, Morlant returns to Earth to seek vengeance upon those who removed the jewel from his grave.

A dying Egyptologist becomes consumed by his belief that a sacred jewel holds the key to eternal life, making sinister arrangements to carry its power with him into the grave. When those arrangements are disturbed by the living, something very wrong stirs in the darkness. Steeped in the Gothic atmosphere of early British horror, The Ghoul delivers fog-drenched menace anchored by a commanding Boris Karloff performance. Ancient curses and human greed prove a deadly combination.
