The premise

Wealthy slacker college student Mark, his new girlfriend Sarah, and their friends are invited to a special showing at a mysterious wax museum which displays 18 of the most evil men of all time. After his ex-girlfriend and another friend disappear, Mark becomes suspicious.

Horror Vault's take

When a mysterious wax museum opens its doors to a group of college students, its eerily lifelike displays of history's most infamous monsters and villains turn out to be far more dangerous than anyone bargained for. Each diorama pulls visitors into a vivid, self-contained nightmare world — vampire lairs, werewolf-stalked forests, and worse. Part horror anthology, part creature-feature carnival, Waxwork gleefully throws its characters into genre set-pieces with tongue planted firmly in cheek. It's a love letter to classic monsters wrapped in late-80s excess.
