The premise
Six actors go to a graveyard on a remote island to act out a necromantic ritual. The ceremony works, and soon the dead are walking about and chowing down on human flesh.

A troupe of theater folk venture to a desolate island graveyard for what begins as a darkly playful occult ritual — only to discover that some ceremonies are better left unperformed. What starts with macabre posturing and graveyard antics quickly turns deadly serious when the dead refuse to stay put. Equal parts low-budget camp and genuine dread, this 1972 cult oddity walks the razor's edge between laughs and lurching terror. Fans of early zombie cinema will find it a grimy, earnest snapshot of the genre before it hit the mainstream.
