The premise
One year after running away from home, Nicole and Jesse are still missing. When Jesse's brother, Tom, returns home from active duty, he sets out with his friends Marilyn and Jared to locate the lost couple. Their search leads them to the stretch of old highway with a mysterious Rest Stop, where they find themselves in the same predicament as Nicole and Jesse: confronting a madman.

A soldier returns from deployment to find his brother and girlfriend have vanished without a trace, and he refuses to accept the official silence surrounding their disappearance. Teaming up with two friends, he traces their last known path to a desolate stretch of highway and an ominous rest stop that seems to swallow travellers whole. What waits there is a predator with a terrifying grip on the area — and escape may prove just as elusive as the truth. This direct-to-video sequel ratchets up the brutality while threading in an eerie mythology that goes beyond a simple slasher setup.
