The premise
A breed of humans with dangerously powerful telepathic abilities -- the scanners -- are being recruited by a corrupt police commander, John Forrester, in his crusade to take over the city.

In this sequel to David Cronenberg's cult classic, a new generation of scanners — humans gifted with devastating telepathic and telekinetic powers — finds itself caught in the ambitions of a ruthless police commander with designs on total urban control. As scanner abilities are weaponized for political ends, one young scanner must confront the dark machinery pulling the strings around him. The film blends sci-fi conspiracy with visceral horror, keeping the franchise's signature tension between human potential and human greed front and center. Fans of the original will recognize the world while finding a story that stands on its own pulpy merits.
