The premise
A weekend of camping intended to break Scott out of his post breakup depression, quickly turns into a weekend of bloodshed, as his friends are picked off one by one by the urban legend that haunts the woods surrounding the small town of Old Hickory, Tennessee.

What starts as a well-meaning trip into the Tennessee wilderness to lift a heartbroken friend's spirits takes a brutal turn when something lurking in the woods begins hunting the group. Local legend whispered about in the town of Old Hickory turns out to be far more than campfire talk. The friends find themselves fighting for their lives against a killer that the locals apparently know all too well. Equal parts bloody and tongue-in-cheek, Deathwoods leans into classic slasher energy with a comedic edge.
